Some
interesting shots here of ole Big J on the frozen Delaware River.
I call these photos the round trip. The first three were taken as
I approached the ship at 0900. I went onboard and down to
Broadway, where I stayed until 1300. Had lunch at the Geedunk,
Chicken Noodle Soup, a Hot Dog and a Coke, Yum. Then, back down to
Broadway until 1630, cleaned up and headed home. Broadway is
looking really great, it's hard to believe we've been working down there
almost a year now, but, when the tours open up it will
be standing tall and ready for inspection! After putting my stuff
away in the paint locker it was up to the quarterdeck and then, a quick
detour to the forecastle to take the middle four, some great colors on such a COLD
day! The last three were taken from the dock at about 1715 as I
headed toward the parking lot for the trip back to Virginia. On my
way out I passed a large group of kids coming onboard for an overnight
encampment. That program has been a great success and I think the
Docents really enjoy working with the school and scouting groups that
come onboard. Well, that's it for now, I'll be onboard again on
February 8th, hope to see you there.
