Hey
Bobby, below are the photos I took for you
this past Saturday, hope they
look familiar!
|
|
|
This
piece of Sailor Art is on the wall, just to the right of the hatch to go
down
to E Division's berthing area, not sure if it was there when you were
onboard. |
|
This
is the hatch leading down to E-Division's berthing spaces. The
crew spaces
on this deck (2) have been restored and are open for tours (that's why
the red
and green lines are on the floor). The compartment forward of this
one is another
crew berthing space and the next one forward is the Anchor Windlass
compartment. |
|
Looking
back up the ladder from the previous photo,
we're now down on deck 3, in E Division's berthing area |
|
Shot
to the left at the bottom of the ladder. |
|
Another
shot off to the left at the bottom of the ladder.
(looking across the deck starboard to port) |
|
One
more shot, some pretty cramped spaces down here, with bunks stacked 3
high. |
|
Shot
looking forward, ladder back up to deck 2 is on the right. |
|
Shot
of bunk spaces on the starboard side of the compartment. |
|
Shot
looking at hatch leading to compartment forward of E Division's berthing
area. |
|
The
Bullseye on the wall told me I must be in the right place! |
|
Shot
inside the compartment forward of E-Division's
berthing space, looked like a computer work area. |
|
Shot
looking at what was the Sound Powered Shop area
from the Starboard side (near former location of Mount 55). |
|
Shot
looking at what was the Sound Powered Shop area
from the Port side (near former location of Mount 54). |
|
Two
hatches leading into what was the Sound Powered Shop area. |
|
I
entered from the hatch on the Port side (farthest away in
the photo above). This is the view to the right inside of the
former shop area. This space is now being used as an office. |
|
Shot
looking back at the hatch I entered from. I didn't notice any
special tile
work on the floor, but that's not to say what you were asking
about isn't there.
There is a lot of cabinets and other pieces of furniture blocking the
other hatch. |
|
One
more shot of a bullseye in the former shop area. It says this area
was occupied by the 5th Division during the ships last deployment.
Do you recognize this area by any chance? Was I in the right spot? |
