If you haven’t visited Battleship New Jersey’s gift shop lately or explored the offerings of the online store, now is the time!  The range of items for sale is steadily growing, and you’re sure to find many interesting holiday gift ideas.

Two books, in particular, would be perfect for any sailor or history buff.  In full-color and black and white photographs Battleship New Jersey Birth to Berth ($25.00) tells the story of the people who built her, who served aboard, and her return to the river where she was born and is now a proud museum and memorial.  For those who enjoy a good detective story, The Kissing Sailor:  The Mystery Behind the Photo That Ended World War II ($23.99) is certain to please.  Authors Lawrence  Verria and George Galdorisi through extensive research solve the decades old mystery of the true identity of the sailor and nurse who kissed the war good-by in Alfred Eisenstaedt’s iconic photo, V-J Day, 1945, Times Square.  As an added bonus, the book is autographed by George Mendonsa, THE Kissing Sailor.

The numbered pen comes with a wooden storage box and a descriptive brass plate.
